[ this is the first time luke's hearing about a hades' curse — frankly, he doesn't care. the oracle means very little to him. there's nothing tying him to the curse, nor even the oracle's spirit herself. what he doesn't know makes him ignorant, from what truly made may castellan lose herself little by little over the course of her life and his to just how much he needs to dislike the god of the dead. he brushes it off, under the rug it goes. it's nice to know the oracle of delphi's current host may be at peace, but luke lacks the story and thus the compassion to really care. ]

Right. [ it sounds as though he doesn't believe her, but it's a little difficult to let it sink in and process quickly the oracle up in the attic may be no more. luke castellan is dead and the world continues to spin on. ] So, if you're the Oracle, tell me of my future. [ there comes a little tug in her chest at that direct question, a tell him that she's learned to control by now, but it's still there. being over a video makes it a little easier. still. ]

[ like she's lecturing one of the campers who just asked for her to tell him the outcome of the next chariot race so he can make an easy drachma. ] But alright, which future do you mean - here, or home? [ he bristles at hero. it'd be easier to simply snap at her for it, but luke decides to be the cat and brush it under the already lumpy rug. it's a detour he doesn't want to take when he's trying to get her to prove something he can't grade her against. what does he know about being the oracle? nothing. ]

[ he smiles, but it's not out of mirth. ] You forget? The dead don't have futures, Red. [ at least, not at home. here? he has a future. it's difficult for him to wrap his head around, his second chance panning out better than his first try. ]

I haven't really tried to look into anyone's future here, to be perfectly honest. Fate, it's not the same as it is back in our world. It- feels different. [ her brow furrows up, like she's all too aware of how that sounds ] I still have dreams, but they're not as clear. And I definitely can't read anything over the lockets, so.

[ as for feeling off, luke gets it. without kronos in his head, he feels unbalanced — or perhaps he's finally righted himself, no longer favouring his left over his right as the titan has left the building of luke castellan. he doesn't comment on it; he doesn't want to. finding a common ground with rachel elizabeth dare is not something he wants to pursue. ]

So, you just want me to find pretty things out of the goodness of my heart, then?

[ he hasn't said no, and he has no plans to — it's the most he'll be doing since retrieving the moon. he's bored, but he doesn't like saying yes, sure, either. ]
