[ rather than taking the boat back to the shores near treun, luke teleports over to the front porch of haven. he bailed with a day left of the tourney, taking a man up on his offer to sail him over to the city that he could easily gamble away other's gold and earn himself a bit of a name. the tourney had been boring for a guy who had realised he lost his advantage with a sword, disliked being on the back of a horse, and actually wished to be the champion of conning others out of their own valuables. and though he thinks he's getting pretty far in the deal he's in the middle of making, no one really asks luke castellan for a comforting hand, let alone a hug, unless something's incredibly wrong. ]
[ maybe it's polite if he knocks, but luke's never really known manners when it comes to a door and a bolt holding it in place. before he even thinks to hover his hand over it to manipulate the insides of the lock itself, he pulls his converse shoes off and places them by the door. he doesn't drop the carrier bag he holds, so heavy in its weight with all the goods he doesn't trust his newfound friends in keeping safe for him, as he simply goes to work with one hand. the lock is easy to manipulate open and he closes it softly behind him as his feet pad slightly loudly along the floor. though he can find almost anything, he doesn't think to trail around her townhouse as if she's not the type to house a few strays. ]
[ noisily, he drops the crap he's traded and bought in leathann. though he wishes to return, even thinking of setting up shop far from the rest of the drabwurld as it's peace he wants — craving to be left alone completely and truly — he had brought his shit with him as a part of him knew he might not be returning to it any time soon. it'd been easier to take to a boat after the tourney had lost its shine for him, and it'd been tempting to not return at all, but luke's always been the type to run away to only return when someone reaches out and insists they need him. his fingers curl into the sleeves of is black sweater as he peers into the kitchen, before he thinks to call out, albeit softly, ] Hermione?
[ It had taken a long time for Hermione to find the courage to message Luke. She knows that her new scar will probably upset him, will likely make him question her, and for a long time she wasn't ready for that. She wasn't entirely prepared for it herself and now that the tourney is almost over and she has a little time for herself she's feeling better; a relief that settles over her, that makes the weight of the last few months feel lighter. She feels better, and that's all she could ask for. Having Luke at her side will only help, she's sure of that.
The door opens without her having done anything and for a moment she's entirely exasperated - of course Luke wouldn't bother knocking and would just use his skills to open the door. It's a fond exasperation, though, and she moves to stand, commanding Padfoot and Crookshanks to stay where they are so they're not in the way before she shuts the door behind them. The cat and the dog probably need the time to get back to being friendly again, since Hermione had taken Padfoot to the tournament with her rather than bringing her poor cat (who, she thinks, she might need to have words with, since he keeps sneaking out).
She's quick to walk down the stairs, to peek around the corner carefully, offering a soft smile - as much as she can - before she shifts, actually moving around to show herself off properly. She's not sure how he's going to react, not really, so she keeps her expression measured and gentle before she moves forward, wondering if he'll accept a greeting hug before she asks for more. ] Hi.
